The biggest day of local giving returns on September 14 when Give For Good Louisville takes over our community. This 24-hour online giving day hosted by the Community Foundation of Louisville was created to inspire people to give generously to one or more of the 500+ local participating nonprofits that make our community one where people and place can thrive. Online giving takes place between midnight and 11:59 PM at www.giveforgoodlouisville.org.

My Choice is the Boy Scouts of America!

For over one hundred years, the Lincoln Heritage Council has prepared young people for life through some of the most outstanding leadership and growth programs available. Whether it’s camping, hiking, community outreach or building remote controlled robots, Scouting offers exciting programs designed to inspire, build character and instill the values that boys and girls need to succeed today.

We offer programs for girls ages 14-21 (or 13 and graduated 8th grade) and boys ages 7-21. Scouting programs foster and strengthen self-confidence, ethics, respect for others, academic skills, and leadership abilities that stay with them their entire lives.

The Lincoln Heritage Council, one of the largest in the Boy Scouts of America, has more than 25,755 members and nearly 6,000 adult volunteers. They come from 64 different counties in Central and Western Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Southwestern Illinois, Tennessee and Louisville Metropolitan areas.

The council, headquartered in Louisville, serves these areas with camp properties located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky (Harry S. Frazier, Jr. Scout Reservation); Benton, Kentucky (Pfeffer Scout Reservation); Russellville, Kentucky (Badgett Scout Reservation) and Charlestown, Indiana (Tunnel Mill Scout Reservation).

Scouting units in the Lincoln Heritage Council are chartered by over 300 different community groups that include civic, non-profit, religious, educational and business organizations throughout the region.
